Lisa Grosskopf: $450K Complaint Against Peak Brokerage Advisor

Burbank, California financial advisor Lisa Grosskopf (CRD# 3213930) recently received an investor complaint alleging that she recommended unsuitable investments. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that she is registered as a broker with Peak Brokerage Services, having previously been registered with Gold Coast Securities.

Ms. Grosskopf’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in October 2025, it alleges that as a representative of Gold Coast Securities, she recommended an unsuitable investment in an indexed universal life insurance policy. According to the complaint, the recommendation was unsuitable because “premiums for the policy were withdrawn from qualified accounts causing the claimants to incur IRS early withdrawal penalties.” Additionally, the claimants allege that she breached her fiduciary duty, violated FINRA rules, made misrepresentations of material facts, and breached contract. The pending complaint alleges damages of $450,000.

For reference, FINRA Rule 2020 stipulates that financial advisors at FINRA member firms must not “effect any transaction in, or induce the purchase or sale of, any security by means of any manipulative, deceptive or other fraudulent device or contrivance.” What this means is that brokers are forbidden from making misrepresentations of material information—that is, information posing a significant consideration for investors weighing a particular investment product or strategy—related to their recommendations. Brokers who make misrepresentations may be held liable for damages in the event that an investment suffers losses, or they may even be held subject to disciplinary action by securities regulators.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Lisa Grosskopf holds 26 years of securities industry experience. Based in Burbank, California, she has been registered as a broker with Peak Brokerage Services since June 2024. Her past registrations include Gold Coast Securities, AIG Financial Advisors, and SunAmerica Securities. Her credentials include the passage of six securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Representative Examination, or Series 6; the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63; the Operations Professional Exam, or Series 99TO; and the General Securities Principal Examination, or Series 24. She is licensed in Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon, and Wisconsin. (Information current as of November 30, 2025.)
