Amit Urban: $475K Complaint Against Fortitude Advisor

A recent investor complaint against Ann Arbor, Maryland financial advisor Amit Urban (CRD# 6855682) alleges that his advice resulted in six-figure damages. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker with Concorde Investment Services, doing business as Fortitude Investment Group.

Mr. Urban’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in October 2025, it alleges that as a representative of Concorde Investment Services, he failed to conduct adequate due diligence, misrepresented and omitted material facts, and recommended an unsuitable investment in January 2023. The pending complaint alleges damages of $475,000.

For reference, FINRA rules prohibit brokers like Mr. Urban from misrepresenting material facts concerning the investments or investment strategies they recommend to their claimants. FINRA Rule 2020 specifically stipulates that no broker shall “effect any transaction in, or induce the purchase or sale of, any security by means of any manipulative, deceptive or other fraudulent device or contrivance.” Securities industry rules and standards prohibit both fraudulent misrepresentation, or intentional provision of misleading information, as well as negligent misrepresentation, or the careless provision of misleading information. Investors who suffer losses on investments that they made as the result of misrepresentations may be able to bring a claim against their broker.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Amit Urban holds seven years of securities industry experience. Based in Ann Arbor, Maryland, he has been registered as a broker with Concorde Investment Services since 2019, doing business as Fortitude Investment Group. He was previously registered with Lightpath Capital in San Jose, California from 2017 until 2019. His credentials include the passage of four securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63; the Direct Participation Programs Representative Examination, or Series 22; and the Limited Representative-Private Securities Offerings, or Series 82TO. He is licensed in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Maine, New Jersey, North Carolina, and Washington. (Information current as of December 6, 2025.)
