Chris Chlupp: Baird Advisor Received Investor Complaint

A recent, denied investor complaint against West Bend, Wisconsin financial advisor Chris Chlupp (CRD# 2950578) alleges that his conduct resulted in damages. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Robert W. Baird.

Mr. Chlupp’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in February 2026, it alleges that as a representative of Robert W. Baird & Company, he mismanaged a portion of the customers’ retirement assets. The complaint alleged damages of $175,608.30 and was denied by the firm.

FINRA Rule 2010 requires FINRA-associated persons to “observe high standards of commercial honor and just and equitable principles of trade.” Many types of unethical conduct, including the mismanagement of accounts or the failure to follow a customer’s instructions, may be found to constitute violations of FINRA Rule 2010, provided the alleged activities occur “in the conduct of [the member’s] business.” Brokers who fail to uphold FINRA Rule 2010 may be held liable in the event of losses.

Robert W. Baird & Company’s website includes a profile of Mr. Chlupp that describes him as a member of the Chlupp Group, a practice within the firm. His father started Baird’s West Bend office in 1982, the profile states, and Mr. Chlupp joined as an advisor in 1999. He is a certified Certified Investment Management Analyst and a Board Member of the Economic Development of Washington County, as well as a graduate of the West Bend Area Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Group and a member of the West Bend Community Foundation.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Chris Chlupp holds 27 years of securities industry experience. Based in West Bend, Wisconsin, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Robert W. Baird since 1998. His credentials include the passage of four securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination, or Series 65; the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63; and the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7. He is licensed in Alabama, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, and Wisconsin.
