Murfreesboro, Tennessee financial advisor Randy Wilson (CRD# 6180467) has been named in a pending regulatory enforcement action alleging that he acted negligently. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Edward Jones.
Mr. Wilson’s BrokerCheck report discloses the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance’s complaint against him. Filed in July 2026, the disclosure states that a client’s power of attorney lodged a complaint with the Department, alleging that he “acted negligently by preparing legal documentation directing the liquidation of an annuity held by client and her late husband, rather than placing the annuity solely in client’s name after her husband’s death.” They alleged further that this action triggered capital gains taxes, and that “documentation authorizing liquidation of the annuity was prefiled” either by Mr. Wilson or at his direction. The Department filed a formal Notice of Hearing and Charges in which it seeks civil penalties, restitution, investigation costs, and revocation of Mr. Wilson’s Tennessee licenses.
According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Randy Wilson holds 13 years of securities industry experience. Based in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Edward Jones since 2013. His credentials include the passage of three securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; and the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66. He holds 14 state licenses. (Information current as of September 7, 2026.)
