AJ Davis: $4 Million Complaint Against Edward Jones Advisor

A new investor complaint against Frisco, Texas financial advisor AJ Davis (CRD# 4746025) alleges that his conduct resulted in damages of more than $4 million. Records maintained by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority indicate that he is a broker and an investment advisor with Edward Jones.

Mr. Davis’s BrokerCheck report discloses two investor complaints. Filed in December 2022, the most recent alleges that as a representative of Edward Jones, he failed to disclose a conflict of interest. The complaint alleges further that he recommended that stock in RVP “would be worth $30 a share” without any reasonable basis, that he failed to properly diversify the customer’s accounts, and that he did not make suitable investment recommendations to the client. The pending complaint, which also alleges that the firm failed to properly supervise him, seeks damages of $4,821,827.40.

An earlier investor complaint, filed in 2018, alleged that he placed trades without authorization while at Edward Jones. The complaint reached a settlement of $12,600.67.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, AJ Davis holds 18 years of securities industry experience. Based in Frisco, Texas, he has been a broker and an investment advisor with Edward Jones since 2004 and 2007, respectively. His credentials include the passage of four securities industry qualifying exams: the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63; and the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66. He is licensed in Alabama, Arizona, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Washington.
