Carlson Law Files Claim Involving Anthony Desjardins of Centaurus

Carlson Law recently filed a case on behalf of an investor against Centaurus Financial involving the actions of Lady Lake, Florida financial advisor Anthony Desjardins (CRD# 6528916). Mr. Desjardins is a broker registered with Centaurus Financial, doing business as Desjardins Retirement Solutions.

Carlson Law’s client is a retired 73-year-old, living in The Villages, Florida. The Statement of Claim filed by Carlson Law alleges that the client met Desjardins after Desjardins placed an ad in The Villages Daily Sun newspaper offering a free investment seminar. It further alleges that Desjardins sold Claimant a high-risk investment in order to generate large commissions:  a $100,000 bond issued by GWG Holdings Inc. (“GWG”), named L bonds. GWG is now in bankruptcy and the investment likely lost its entire value.

Desjardins Retirement Solutions’ website includes a profile of Mr. Desjardins that describes his experience and services. “As a wealth advisor, his primary duties consist of partnering with clients to develop a comprehensive financial plan that meets their financial goals and investment objectives,” it explains. “Although Anthony enjoys all aspects of the retirement planning process, his favorite topics include income planning, tax management, and investment management.”

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Anthony Desjardins holds eight years of securities industry experience. Based in Lady Lake, Florida, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Centaurus Financial since 2017, doing business as Desjardins Retirement Solutions. He was previously registered with Newbridge Securities Corporation in Lady Lake, Florida from 2015 until 2017. His credentials include the passage of three securities industry qualifying exams: the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; and the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66. He is licensed in Florida, Georgia, Maine, Nebraska, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. (Information current as of June 1, 2024.)
