Westbury, New York financial advisor Chris Russo (CRD# 2744913) recently received an investor complaint in connection with investments in GWG Holdings and GPB Capital. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is a broker with B. Riley Wealth Management, doing business as Worldwide Wealth Group.
Mr. Russo’s BrokerCheck report discloses several investor complaints. The most recent, filed in June 2023, alleges that as a representative of National Securities Corporation, he recommended unsuitable investments in GWG Holdings and GPB Capital. The pending complaint alleges unspecified damages of at least $5,000.
An earlier investor complaint, filed in 2020, alleged that as a National Securities Corporation representative, he recommended an unsuitable private placement. In 2021 the complaint reached a settlement of $25,000. In a statement included with the complaint’s disclosure, Mr. Russo wrote that he was neither the broker of record nor named in the complaint.
A third investor complaint, filed in 2003, alleged that as a representative of Continental Broker-Dealer Corporation, he engaged in unauthorized trading. The complaint reached a settlement of $3,593.54.
According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Chris Russo holds 27 years of securities industry experience. Based in Westbury, New York, he has been a broker with B. Riley Wealth Management since July 2022, doing business as Worldwide Wealth Group. His past registrations include National Securities Corporation (Westbury, New York; 2007-2022), Gunnallen Financial (Westbury, New York; 2003-2007), Continental Broker-Dealer Corporation (Carle Place, New York; 1997-2003), and Sterling Foster & Company (Uniondale, New York; 1996-1997). His credentials include the passage of three securities industry qualifying exams: the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; and the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63.
