Curtis Sathre: $754K Complaint Against Ex-JRL Capital Advisor

A recent investor complaint against Oceanside, California financial advisor Curtis Sathre (CRD# 2459115) alleges that his advice resulted in damages exceeding $700,000. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker with Quincy Wells Capital and an investment advisor with Quincy Wells Advisors.

Mr. Sathre’s BrokerCheck report discloses multiple investor complaints. The most recent, filed in March 2026, alleges that as a representative of JRL Capital Corporation, he violated Regulation Best Interest, recommended unsuitable investments and an unsuitable strategy, failed to conduct adequate due diligence, made material misrepresentations and omissions, breached his fiduciary duty, committed fraud, acted negligently, breached contract, and violated state and federal securities law. The pending complaint alleges damages of $754,000.

An earlier investor complaint, filed in 2010, alleged that as a representative of WFP Securities, he recommended unsuitable investments in direct participation programs. The complaint reached a settlement of $30,010.

A third investor complaint, filed in 2009, alleged that as a representative of WFP Securities, he acted negligently, made unsuitable investment recommendations, breached his fiduciary duty, and negligently misrepresented material facts. In 2011 the complaint reached a settlement of $500,000.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Curtis Sathre holds 32 years of securities industry experience. Based in Oceanside, California, he has been registered as a broker with Quincy Wells Capital and an investment advisor with Quincy Wells Advisors since March 2026. His registration history includes Great Point Capital, JRL Capital Advisors, JRL Capital Corporation, Western Financial Advisors, and WFP Securities. His credentials include the passage of eight securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination, or Series 65; the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63; the Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Principal Examination, or Series 26; the General Securities Principal Examination, or Series 24; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Representative Examination, or Series 6; and the Limited Representative-Private Securities Offerings, or Series 82TO.
