Diana Leon: Osaic Advisor Faced Suitability Complaint

Gaithersburg, Maryland financial advisor Diana Leon (CRD# 4857407) allegedly recommended an unsuitable investment, according to a recent, denied investor complaint. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that she is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Osaic Wealth.

Ms. Leon’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in July 2025, it alleges that as a representative of Osaic Wealth, she recommended unsuitable callable note purchases. The pending complaint alleged damages of at least $5,000.

A second disclosure on her BrokerCheck report concerns her firing from Merrill Lynch. Filed in 2015, it states that the firm terminated her registration in connection with allegations that she made “inaccurate entries of required account reviews in an internal tracking sentence.” In a statement included with the disclosure, she disputed the firm’s findings. “ I scheduled and held account review meetings with clients on a regular basis as specified by Merrill Lynch,” she wrote. “There was no firm policy or rule that meetings had to be recorded. I inputted notes of meetings into Merrill Lynch’s internal tracking system using a template I developed several years ago which helped me to addresss [sic] the benchmark issues desired by Merrill Lynch to be covered with my clients. All of my compliance reviews were completed on a timely basis.”

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Diana Leon holds 15 years of securities industry experience. Based in Gaithersburg, Maryland, she has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Osaic Wealth since 2024. Her past registrations include Woodbury Financial Services, LPL Financial, Capital One Investing, and Merrill Lynch. Her credentials include the passage of three securities industry qualifying exams: the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; and the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7. She holds 26 state licenses. (Information current as of September 21, 2025.)
