JC Britt: Morgan Stanley Advisor Lands Options Complaint

A recent investor complaint against Vero Beach, Florida financial advisor JC Britt (CRD# 4523267) alleges that his advice resulted in losses. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Morgan Stanley.

Mr. Britt’s BrokerCheck report discloses two investor complaints. The most recent, filed in September 2025, alleges that as a representative of Morgan Stanley, he misrepresented and recommended an unsuitable options trading strategy. The pending complaint alleges unspecified damages.

An earlier investor complaint, filed in 2011, alleged that as a representative of UBS Financial Services, he “recommended investments in unsuitable and risky structured notes.” In 2013 the complaint reached a settlement of $150,000.

Morgan Stanley’s website includes a profile of Mr. Britt in which he describes his mission to craft and implement “custom tailored solutions for the unique needs and requirements of the high net worth clients.” As it explains further, his services include financial planning, estate planning, wealth management, and asset management.

Investors should be aware that FINRA rules forbid brokers from making misrepresentations of material information relating to the investments and strategies they recommend to their clients. FINRA Rule 2020 states specifically that no broker shall “effect any transaction in, or induce the purchase or sale of, any security by means of any manipulative, deceptive or other fraudulent device or contrivance.” Brokers who misrepresent investments may be held liable in the event of losses.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, JC Britt holds 22 years of securities industry experience. Based in Vero Beach, Florida, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Morgan Stanley since 2010. His past registrations include UBS Financial Services, UST Securities Corporation, and PNC Capital Markets. His credentials included the passage of four securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; and the Futures Managed Funds Examination, or Series 31. He holds 26 state licenses. (Information current as of November 3, 2025.)
