A recent investor complaint against Overland Park, Kansas financial advisor Jeff Meyers (CRD# 2192759) alleges that his advice resulted in six-figure damages. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Osaic Wealth, doing business as Meyers Wealth Management.
Mr. Meyers’ BrokerCheck report discloses multiple investor complaints. The most recent, filed in June 2025, alleges that as a Cetera representative, he recommended unsuitable investments. The pending complaint alleges damages of $100,000.
In a statement included with the complaint’s disclosure, Mr. Meyers defended himself against the allegations. “The client is an accredited investor with advanced college degrees,” he wrote. “We recommended the client invest a portion of her assets in REITs and BDCs. We educated the client and fairly represented the pros and cons of investing in specific REITS and BDCs. The products that we recommended went through an extensive due diligence process by the broker dealer. In addition, each individual investment was reviewed by the broker dealer’s Compliance Department and found to be suitable for the client.”
An earlier investor complaint, filed in 2020, alleged that as a JP Turner representative, he recommended unsuitable products. In 2021 the complaint reached a settlement of $8,500. “This client knew he was investing in non-liquid REITs and signed documents stating that he understood the investments were illiquid,” he wrote. “All investments in REITs by this client were approved as suitable by Compliance Department.”
Meyers’ Wealth Management’s website features a profile of Mr. Meyers in which he describes his background and experience. “My life’s passion is helping people both professionally and personally,” he explains. “I take a holistic approach to helping my clients achieve their long-term financial goals. As an independent advisor, I only work for one person… you, my client. And I only recommend strategies and actions that I myself would follow, given the same situation and circumstances.”
