Michael Dose: Did Cambridge Advisor Sell Inspired Healthcare?

San Diego, California financial advisor Michael Dose (CRD# 1747180) was fired from a former member firm in connection with alleged rule violations. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Cambridge Investment Research, doing business as The Retirement Strategy Connection.

In addition, Mr. Dose’s name appears on a Form D filing for Inspired Healthcare Capital, a senior living development company that recently entered bankruptcy. As an article by InvestmentNews explains, the company offered private placement offerings and alternative investments “through a network of independent contractor broker-dealers,” reportedly generating “more than $100 million in fees and commissions” for investments that later stopped issuing distributions to investors.

Mr. Dose’s BrokerCheck report discloses his termination from LPL Financial. Filed in 2009, the disclosure states that the firm fired him in connection with allegations of his “involvement in facilitating [a] customer obtaining mortgage financing partially used to fund investments, in violation of LPL policies and procedures.”

As InvestmentNews reports, the investments issued by Inspired Healthcare included private placements, Delaware Statutory Trusts, “and other private vehicles.” The articles explains that Mr. Dose’s former broker-dealer firm Emerson Equity, which was involved in selling the investments, was previously the “lead seller of private bonds issued by GWG Holdings, which went bankrupt in 2022 after defaulting on more than $1 billion in so-called L bonds.” Another InvestmentNews report cites a sources suggesting that the brokers who sold investments in Inspired Healthcare, and who received commissions for their work, “are going to face claw backs… By the time Inspired Healthcare gets liquidated and the trustees and lawyers all get paid, there’s not going to be much, if anything, left for investors in these private placements.”

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Michael Dose holds 38 years of securities industry experience. Based in San Diego, California, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Cambridge Investment Research since December 2025, doing business as The Retirement Strategy Connection. His past registrations include Emerson Equity, Dempsey Lord Smith, Gradient Securities, Center Street Securities, Infinity Financial Services, LPL Financial Corporation, and Pruco Securities. His credentials include the passage of six securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Representative Examination, or Series 6; the General Securities Principal Examination, or Series 24; and the Investment Banking Registered Representative Examination, or Series 79TO. He is licensed in California, Florida, Mississippi, and Utah. (Information current as of March 21, 2026.)
