Justin Parker: Ameriprise Advisor Suspended over REIT Offer

Itasca, Illinois financial advisor Justin Parker (CRD# 4671557) was recently sanctioned and suspended in connection with allegedly unauthorized trades. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Ameriprise Financial Services.

A Letter of Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent (No. 2022076380901) describes FINRA’s disciplinary action against Mr. Parker. Signed in December 2025, it alleges that he “instructed a trader to effect 310 unauthorized transactions in the non-discretionary accounts of 277 customers.” The trades were part of a “modified ‘Dutch Auction’ self-tender offer” involving a non-traded real estate investment trust’s offer to buy as much as $100 million in shares from its shareholders.According to FINRA’s findings, Mr. Parker directed the trader “to tender all [of the REIT’s] shares held in his customers’ accounts” without obtaining the customers’ written or oral authorization, and without discretionary authority over their accounts. Finding that he effected 310 unauthorized trades in violation of FINRA Rule 2010, FINRA censured Mr. Parker, suspended him for 30 calendar days, and ordered him to pay a fine of $2,500.

Mr. Parker’s BrokerCheck report discloses one settled customer complaint. Filed in 2009, it alleges that as an Ameriprise representative, he failed to follow instructions to liquidate positions, recommended unsuitable investments, made misrepresentations and omissions of material facts, breached his fiduciary duty, and acted negligently. The complaint reached a settlement of $25,000.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Justin Parker holds 17 years of securities industry experience. Based in Itasca, Illinois, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Ameriprise Financial Services since 2008 and 2009, respectively. His credentials include the passage of three securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; and the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66. He holds 43 state licenses. (Information current as of January 1, 2026.)
