Kelly Crane: $60K Complaint Against Wealth Enhancement Advisor

A recent investor complaint against St. Helena, California financial advisor Kelly Crane (CRD# 1236296) alleges that his advice resulted in damages. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Wealth Enhancement Advisory Group and Wealth Enhancement Advisory Services, respectively.

Mr. Crane’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in March 2024, it alleges that as a representative of Wealth Enhancement Advisory Services, he recommended unsuitable options investments. The pending complaint alleges damages of $60,000.

An unsuitable investment, as outlined by FINRA Rule 2111, is one which the broker does not have a reasonable basis to believe is suited to a customer’s specific profile. An investor’s profile “includes, but is not limited to, the customer’s age, other investments, financial situation and needs, tax status, investment objectives, investment experience, investment time horizon, liquidity needs, risk tolerance,” and other factors. FINRA rules require brokers to perform reasonable diligence to determine a customer’s profile. Then, they must use this determination to evaluate the suitability of an investment or strategy for that customer. Brokers who recommend unsuitable investments may be liable to their customers in the event of losses.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Kelly Crane holds 42 years of securities industry experience. Based in St. Helena, California, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Wealth Enhancement Advisory Group and Wealth Enhancement Advisory Services, respectively, since 2022. His past registrations include LPL Financial, Napa Valley Wealth Management, TrueNote Investment Advisors, Cetera Advisor Networks, Associated Planners Investment Advisory, Associated Securities Corporation, TransAmerica Financial Advisors, New England Securities, and Financial Network Investment Corporation. His credentials include the passage of four securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; and the General Securities Principal Examination, or Series 24. He holds 21 state licenses. (Information current as of April 19, 2026.)
