Mark Raghunandan: Investor Complaint Against Merrill Lynch Advisor

A recent investor complaint against Oceanside, New York financial advisor Mark Raghunandan (CRD# 7084686) alleges that he violated industry standards. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Merrill Lynch.

Mr. Raghunandan’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in July 2026, it alleges that as a representative of Merrill Lynch, he violated Regulation Best Interest. The pending complaint alleges unspecified damages.

Rule 15l-1(a)(1) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, also known as the SEC’s Regulation Best Interest, stipulates that brokers may only recommend investments and strategies in the best interests of their clients. Both firms and registered representatives must “act in the best interest of the retail customer at the time the recommendation is made, without placing the financial or other interest of the broker, dealer, or natural person who is an associated person of a broker or dealer making the recommendation ahead of the interest of the retail customer,” the regulation states. Brokers who make unsuitable investment recommendations may be found liable for damages in the event of losses.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Mark Raghunandan holds seven years of securities industry experience. Based in Oceanside, New York, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Merrill Lynch since 2019. He was previously registered with JP Morgan. His credentials include the passage of four securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7TO; the Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Representative Examination, or Series 6TO; and the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66. He holds 56 state licenses. (Information current as of September 7, 2026.)
