Denver, Colorado financial advisor Michael Pineda (CRD# 2337780) recently received an investor complaint alleging that he made unsuitable investment recommendations. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with LifeMark Securities.
Mr. Pineda’s BrokerCheck report discloses two investor complaints. The most recent, filed in November 2025, alleges that as a representative of LifeMark Securities, he made unsuitable recommendations, breached his fiduciary duty, failed to perform reasonable due diligence, acted negligently, and breached contract in connection with an investment whose issuer later filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The pending complaint alleges damages of $105,000.
An earlier investor complaint, filed in 2022, similarly alleged breach of fiduciary duty, negligence, fraud, and violations of securities laws in connection with an investment whose issuer later filed for bankruptcy. In 2023 the complaint reached a settlement of $45,000.
A statement included with the disclosure notes that Mr. Pineda was not a party to the arbitration that led to the settlement. “Without admitting any wrongdoing, LifeMark and the client have entered into a confidential Settlement Agreement and Release in which the client has provided a full release in favor of LifeMark,” it states. “Neither the Settlement Agreement nor its covenants and releases shall be construed as an admission of liability by Lifemark or any of its agents, shareholders, principals, members, officers, directors, or representatives. Mr. Pineda was not involved in settlement discussions and did not contribute to the settlement.”
A third disclosure on Mr. Pineda’s BrokerCheck report concerns his termination from Pruco Securities. Filed in 2017, it states that the firm fired him in connection with allegations that he “submitted a Company replacement form containing a non-genuine signature and non-genuine initials of a client to the Company in connection with an annuity application.”
