Former New York City financial advisor Mohammed Salim (CRD# 7126671) was recently sanctioned and barred in connection with allegedly unauthorized sales. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he was most recently registered as a broker with Morgan Stanley, having previously been registered with Charles Schwab & Company.
A Letter of Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent (No. 2024083984501) details FINRA’s disciplinary action against Mr. Salim. Published in July 2025, it describes findings that he violated FINRA rules by refusing to appear for on-the-record testimony requested by FINRA as part of an investigation into his conduct. The investigation stemmed from a 2024 filing by Morgan Stanley regarding his termination from the firm in connection with concerns of unauthorized sales and funds transfers. “Although Salim initially cooperated with FINRA’s investigation,” the Letter states, “he ceased doing so in June 2025.” He then informed FINRA via counsel that he would not appear for the requested testimony. As a result, FINRA barred him from associating with any member firm in any capacity.
Mr. Salim’s BrokerCheck report discloses his termination from Morgan Stanley. Filed in 2024, the disclosure states that the firm fired him in connection with alleged concerns regarding “unauthorized sales, and funds transfers from a customer’s account to the representative’s creditors.” The disclosure provides no additional information regarding the underlying allegations.
According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Mohammed Salim holds five years of securities industry experience. Most recently based in New York City, he was registered with Morgan Stanley from 2022 until 2024. His past registrations include Charles Schwab & Company (2021-2022) and Merrill Lynch (2019-2021). His credentials include the passage of three securities industry qualifying exams: the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; and the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7TO. He is no longer registered as a broker with any state or firm. (Information current as of July 2, 2025.)
