Scott Eichler: Centaurus Advisor’s Client Listed as GWG Creditor

At least one current or former customer of Centaurus Financial advisor Scott Eichler (CRD# 5431034) is listed as creditor for an $99,000 GWG L bond investment, according to records filed with a US bankruptcy court. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that Mr. Eichler is based in Newport Beach, California, where he does business as Standing Oak Advisors.

Investors should be aware that GWG “L bond” products issued by Texas-based asset management firm GWG Holdings, which raised more than $1 billion from investors before filing for bankruptcy while being investigated by the Securities and Exchange Commission, may not have been suitable for customers with limited investment experience and/or low tolerances for risk. As the prospectus for these products explained, they came with a significant amount of risk, including the possibility that investors might lose their entire principal. More information about GWG L bonds, and whether you may be eligible to file a claim for damages, is available via this investor resource.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Scott Eichler holds 15 of securities industry experience. Based in Newport Beach, California, he has been a broker and an investment advisor with Centaurus Financial since 2011 and 2021, respectively, doing business as Standing Oak Advisors. He has also been registered as an investment advisor with Newport Wealth Advisors in Newport Beach since 2010. His registration history includes Capital Growth Resources (Newport Beach, California; 2010-2011), Investment Advisors International (Orange, California; 2009-2010), and World Group Securities (Orange, California; 2007-2010).
