Vincent Pereira: Did Alexander Capital Advisor Recommend GWG L Bonds?

At least one current or former client of Alexander Capital advisor Vincent Pereira (CRD# 2933058) is listed as creditor for an investment in GWG L Bond, according to records filed with a US bankruptcy court. The records describe investments totaling $100. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that Mr. Pereira is registered as a broker in New York City.

Investors should be aware that L bonds issued by Dallas-based alternative investment firm GWG Holdings, which filed for bankruptcy in April 2022 and has been investigated by the Securities and Exchange Commission, may have been unsuitable for conservative and/or inexperienced investors. Mr. Pereira’s BrokerCheck report discloses multiple investor complaints. The most recent, filed in 2011, alleged that as a representative of Rockwell Global Capital, he failed to conduct due diligence and breached his fiduciary duty in connection with a private placement investment. In 2013 the complaint reached a settlement of $35,000.

A second investor complaint, filed in 2011, similarly alleged that as a Rockwell Global Capital representative, he failed to perform due diligence on a private placement investment and breached his fiduciary duty to place the customer’s interests before his own. In 2013 the complaint reached a settlement of $40,000.

A third investor complaint, filed in 2011, alleged negligence, false statements, supervisory failures, breach of contract, and fraud connected with a private placement investment while he was a representative of Rockwell Global Capital. In 2013 the complaint reached a settlement of $150,000.

A fourth investor complaint, also filed in 2011, alleged inadequate due diligence and a failure to uphold his fiduciary duty. In 2013 the complaint settled for $20,000.

Based in New York, New York, he has been a broker with Alexander Capital since 2015. His past registrations include Blackbook Capital, Source Capital Group, John Carris Investments, Rockwell Global Capital, Advanced Planning Securities, Nations Financial Group, Archer Alexander Securities Corporation, Investec Ernst & Company, Royce Investment Group, First Providence Financial Group, and Walsh Manning Securities. His credentials include the passage of three securities industry qualifying exams: the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; and the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63. He is licensed in Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin. (Information current as of June 7, 2023.)
