William & Jonathan Harvey: Janney Advisors Land 6-Figure Complaint

Doylestown, Pennsylvania financial advisor William Harvey (CRD# 2398782) and Jonathan Harvey (CRD# 4558464) recently received an investor complaint alleging that they recommended unsuitable investments. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that each is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Janney Montgomery Scott.

Each representative’s BrokerCheck report shows two identical investor complaints. The most recent, filed in February 2024, alleges that as representatives of Janney Montgomery Scott, they recommended unsuitable long-term fixed-income products. The pending complaint alleges damages of $499,999.

A second investor complaint, filed in 2009, similarly alleged that as representatives of Janney Montgomery Scott, they recommended unsuitable investments. In 2010 the complaint reached a settlement of $9,000.

Janney Montgomery Scott’s website includes a page describing the firm’s services and approach. “We provide individuals, families, businesses, and institutions with tailored financial advice,” it explains. “Whether you have questions about an investment strategy, comprehensive financial planning, or raising capital, we are committed to understanding and responding to your needs.”

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, William Harvey holds 30 years of securities industry experience. Based in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Janney Montgomery Scott since 2002 and 2006, respectively. His previous registrations include Legg Mason Wood Walker (Baltimore, Maryland; 1994-2002) and LC Wegard & Company (New York, New York; 1994). Jonathan Harvey, meanwhile, holds 21 years of securities industry experience. Also based in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, he has similarly been registered Janney Montgomery Scott since 2002 as a broker and 2006 as an investment advisor.
