Newport Beach, California financial advisor Zach Taylor (CRD# 6074776) allegedly made unauthorized trades and committed elder abuse, according to a recent investor complaint. Mr. Taylor’s BrokerCheck report discloses multiple investor complaints. The most recent, filed in January 2024, alleges that as a representative of Oppenheimer & Company, he breached his fiduciary duty, acted negligently, breached contact, misrepresented material facts regarding investments, executed unauthorized trades, violated FINRA rules and state securities law, and committed elder abuse. The pending complaint alleges damages of $426,000.
A second investor complaint, filed in 2023, alleges that as a representative of Oppenheimer & Company, he breached his fiduciary duty, misrepresented material facts, executed unauthorized trades, and engaged in unjust enrichment. The pending complaint alleges damages between $100,000 and $500,000.
A third investor complaint, filed in 2023, alleged that as an Oppenheimer representative, he mis-managed the customer’s account. In March 2024 the complaint reached a settlement of $50,000.
In a statement included with the complaint’s disclosure, he defended himself against the allegations. “This has absolutely no basis and zero merit,” he wrote. “All investments were suitable and matched the client’s stated goals in the investor profile and aligned with the specified risk tolerance, time horizon and liquidity need.”
A fourth investor complaint, filed in 2022, alleged that he recommended unsuitable investments, made unauthorized trades, breached his fiduciary duty, and over-concentrated ROKU stocks in the customer’s account. In 2023 the complaint reached a settlement of $250,000. “I at all times conducted myself in an appropriate and professional manner,” he wrote in a statement regarding the complaint. “I deny all allegations of wrongdoing, and intend to vigorously defend myself against the false, unwarranted and unsubstantiated allegations.”
