Adam Corwin: Complaint Against MML Advisor Alleges Fraud

Atlanta financial advisor Adam Corwin (CRD# 6650208) is involved in an investor complaint alleging the unsuitable recommendation of fraudulent investments. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is currently registered as a broker and an investment advisor with MML Investors Services, having previously been registered with OneAmerica Securities.

Mr. Corwin’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in April 2023, the complaint alleges that as a representative of OneAmerica Securities and MML Investors Services, he “was involved in a matter where unsuitable recommendations and material misrepresentations were made in relation to annuity products and fraudulent real estate investments,” causing harm to the investor. The pending complaint alleges unspecified damages.

For reference, FINRA rules and other industry standards prohibit brokers from misrepresenting material facts relating to the investments they recommend. Perhaps the most pertinent regulation is FINRA Rule 2020, which states that no broker shall “effect any transaction in, or induce the purchase or sale of, any security by means of any manipulative, deceptive or other fraudulent device or contrivance.” Representatives who misrepresent investments may be held liable for damages and/or subject to disciplinary action.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Adam Corwin holds six years of securities industry experience. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with MML Investors Services since 2019. His registration history includes OneAmerica Securities (Kennesaw, Georgia; 2017-2019) and Cetera Advisors (Atlanta, Georgia; 2016-2017). His credentials include the passage of three securities industry qualifying exams: the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; and the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66. He is licensed in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. (Information current as of April 30, 2023.)
