A recent investor complaint against Lady Lake, Florida financial advisor Sherri Desjardins (CRD# 6310011) recently received an investor complaint alleging that she recommended unsuitable investments. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that she is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Centaurus Financial, doing business as Desjardins Retirement Solutions.
Ms. Desjardins’ BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in March 2025, it alleges that as a representative of Centaurus Financial, she “recommended and misrepresented unsuitable, high-risk, speculative and illiquid investments” in corporate bond and mutual fund products. The pending investor complaint alleges unspecified damages.
In a statement included with the complaint’s disclosure, Ms. Desjardins wrote that she “vehemently” denied the allegations and planned to vigorously defend against them. “The investments about which the customers complained were suitable,” she wrote further, “and were recommended based on the customer’s objectives, goals and financial circumstances and were offered only after their review of all material documentation related to the investment.”
Desjardins Retirement Solutions’ website includes a profile of Ms. Desjardins that describes her background and focus areas. “As a wealth advisor and RFC, her primary goals are to partner with clients to develop a comprehensive financial plan that meets their retirement goals and needs,” it explains. “Although Sherri enjoys all aspects of the financial planning process, her favorite areas of planning include; income planning, insurance planning, and wealth management.”
Elsewhere, the firm describes its approach to working with clients. “Over the years, we have found that a team approach can be an effective method to help clients who have a wide variety of needs as they maneuver through a complex financial-services world,” it explains. “We believe it has far-reaching benefits for our clients to get opinions from several sources with diverse backgrounds, education, and experience.”
According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Sherri Desjardins holds 10 years of securities industry experience. Based in Lady Lake, Florida, she has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Centaurus Financial since 2017, doing business as Desjardins Retirement Solutions. She was previously registered with Newbridge Securities Corporation in Lady Lake, Flroida from 2014 until 2017. Her credentials include the passage of four securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66; and the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63.
