Aviva Miller: Vanguard Advisor Received $140K Complaint

Malvern, Pennsylvania financial advisor Aviva Miller (CRD# 7075785) was recently involved in an investor complaint alleging that her failure to follow instructions resulted in six-figure losses. Records provided by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority indicate that she is a broker with Vanguard Marketing Corporation, an employee of The Vanguard Group, and an investment advisor with Vanguard Advisers.

Ms. Miller’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in October 2022, it alleged that as a representative of Vanguard Advisers, she failed to follow instructions to liquidate assets in the customer’s account, resulting in losses. The complaint alleged damages of $140,000 and was closed by the firm with no action taken. “After research by the firm, it was determined that the representative’s actions were in accordance with the firm’s policies and procedures,” reads a statement included with the complaint’s disclosure. “There was no indication of any wrongdoing by the advisor.”

Publicly available records show that Ms. Miller is not the only Vanguard Advisers representative to receive an investor complaint in recent months. An October 2022 complaint against Charlotte, North Carolina-based advisor Michael Keen, for instance, alleged that certain investment recommendations led to $90,000 in unrealized losses. A December 2022 complaint against Plano, Texas, advisor Mark Fennelly, meanwhile, alleged that equity and bond recommendations led to damages exceeding $1 million. Both complaints were closed by the firm.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Aviva Miller holds three years of securities industry experience. Based in Malvern, Pennsylvania, she has been a broker with Vanguard Marketing Corporation and an investment advisor with Vanguard Advisers since 2019. Her credentials include the passage of three securities industry qualifying examinations: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7TO; and the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66. She is licensed in Pennsylvania and Texas. (Information current as of January 22, 2023.)
