Chase Ravsten: Vistia Capital Advisor Faces $118K Complaint

A recent investor complaint against Lone Tree, Colorado financial advisor Chase Ravsten (CRD# 5634077) alleges that he misrepresented and recommended an unsuitable investment. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker with Vistia Capital, having previously been registered with Patrick Capital Markets.

Mr. Ravsten’s BrokerCheck report discloses two investor complaints. The most recent, filed in August 2026, alleges that as a representative of Patrick Capital Markets, he made misrepresentations of material facts and recommended an investment that was unsuitable in light of the customer’s “financial situation needs, investment objectives, and risk tolerance.” The pending complaint alleges damages of $118,000.

An earlier investor complaint, filed in 2023, alleged that as a representative of Vistia Capital, he recommended a “flawed and potentially overvalued” private placement investment whose risks the customer did not understand. The complaint alleged damages of $360,000 and was denied by the firm.

In a statement included with the disclosure, Mr. Ravsten addressed the allegations. “The Firm conducted an internal investigation where it was determined that the customer was properly informed of the risks associated with the type of investment, and this was acknowledged by the customer in various communications with the Firm,” he wrote. “The customer’s complaint was denied and is considered closed.”

Investors should be aware that FINRA rules and other securities industry standards prohibit brokers like Mr. Ravsten from giving customers incomplete or misleading information regarding investments. FINRA Rule 2020 specifically stipulates that no registered representative may “effect any transaction in, or induce the purchase or sale of, any security by means of any manipulative, deceptive or other fraudulent device or contrivance.” Brokers who make misrepresentations or omissions of material facts regarding investment recommendations may lead their clients to invest in unsuitable securities, in violation of FINRA Rule 2111. Representatives who misrepresent and/or recommend unsuitable investments may be held liable for damages in the event of losses. They may also be subject to disciplinary action by FINRA, the Securities and Exchange Commission, or state securities regulators.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Chase Ravsten holds five years of securities industry experience. Based in Lone Tree, Colorado, he has been registered as a broker with Vistia Capital since 2021. His past registrations include Patrick Capital Markets. His credentials include the passage of three securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7TO; and the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63. He holds 51 state licenses. (Information current as of September 26, 2026.)
