John Hibshman: $100K Complaint Against Waypoint Advisor

Recent investor complaints against Orange Village, Ohio financial advisor John Hibshman (CRD# 2193302) concern investments in oil and gas products. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is currently registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Lincoln Financial Advisors Corporation.

Mr. Hibshman’s BrokerCheck report discloses two investor complaints. Both filed in February 2024, they allege that as a representative of Lincoln Financial Advisors Corporation, he recommended an unsuitable oil and gas investment. The pending complaints alleges damages of $100,000 and $50,000.

The website for Waypoint Partners, which offers securities and advisory services through Lincoln Financial Advisors’, includes a profile of Mr. Hibshman that describes his background, experience, and goals. “John works with clients through a financial planning process in an organized way to gather information and analyze their total fiscal picture, implement precise financial goals, and together work to devise, apply, and review a comprehensive financial plan to help towards achieving those goals,” the profile states. “Through Financial Planning and Investment Analysis, he helps people solve their financial problems.”

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, John Hibshman holds 32 years of securities industry experience. Based in Orange Village, Ohio, he has been a broker and an investment advisor with Lincoln Financial Advisors Corporation since 1999 and 2000, respectively. He was previously registered with NYLife Securities in New York, New York from 1992 until 1999. His credentials include the passage of four securities industry qualifying exams: the Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Representative Examination, or Series 6; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; and the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63. He is licensed in California, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Massachusetts, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Washington. (Information current as of March 16, 2024.)
