Liliana Nunez: Suitability Complaint Against Wells Fargo Advisor

A recent investor complaint against El Paso, Texas financial advisor Liliana Nunez (CRD# 5793174) alleges that her conduct resulted in losses. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that she is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Wells Fargo Clearing Services and Wells Fargo Advisors, respectively.

Ms. Nunez’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in December 2025, it alleges that as a representative of Wells Fargo Advisors, he pressured the customer “into repositioning into higher risk investment products that were outside their goals and risk tolerance.” The pending complaint alleges unspecified damages.

FINRA rules stipulate that brokers like Liliana Nunez must recommend only investments and investment strategies that meet a standard called suitability. Outlined by FINRA Rule 2111, this standard describes the need for brokers to “have a reasonable basis to believe that a recommended transaction or investment strategy” is appropriate for a customer’s investment profile, which includes their age, investment background, net worth, financial situation, risk tolerance, investment goals, and other concerns. The broker must have a reasonable basis to believe a recommendation is suitable for at least some investors and that it is reasonable for the customer they’re making it to. An investment without principal protection, for instance, might be considered unsuitable for conservative investors with a low risk tolerance. Brokers who recommend unsuitable investments or strategies may be held liable in the event of losses.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Liliana Nunez holds 15 years of securities industry experience. Based in El Paso, Texas, she has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Wells Fargo Clearing Services and Wells Fargo Advisors, respectively, since 2016. She was previously registered with JP Morgan Securities and Chase Investment Services. Her credentials include the passage of five securities industry qualifying exams: the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66; the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; and the Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Representative Examination, or Series 6. She is licensed in Arizona, California, Minnesota, Nevada, New Mexico, Tennessee, Texas, and Washington. (Information current as of January 17, 2026.)
