Robert O’Braitis: Complaint Against Lansdowne Advisor Denied

Landsdowne, Virginia financial advisor Robert O’Braitis (CRD# 2124486) allegedly mismanaged investors’ accounts, according to a recent, denied investor complaint. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Cambridge Investment Research, doing business as Lansdowne Private Wealth Management Group.

Mr. O’Braitis’ BrokerCheck report discloses four investor complaints. The most recent, filed in November 2024, alleged that as a representative of Cambridge Investment Research, he mismanaged the customers’ IRA accounts. The complaint alleged damages of $100,000 and was denied by his firm.

An earlier investor complaint, filed in 2016, alleged that as a Voya Financial Advisors representative, he misrepresented and omitted material facts related to a variable annuity representative. The complaint alleged damages of $78,983 and was denied by the firm.

A third investor complaint, filed in 2016, alleged that as a Cambridge representative, he recommended unsuitable investments. The complaint alleged damages of $38,102 and was denied by the firm.

A fourth investor complaint, filed 1999, alleged that as a representative of American Fronteer Financial Corporation, he mishandled a customer’s account. In 2000 the complaint reached a settlement of $62,500.

Lansdowne Private Wealth Management Group’s website includes a profile of Mr. O’Braitis that describes his background and experience as the firm’s CEO and Chief Investment Strategist. “Robert has over twenty five years of experience in investment strategy, trading, and financial analysis,” it explains. “He specializes in domestic equity, global fixed income, derivatives, and risk management strategies. Robert was previously a Senior Vice President and Branch Manager for the Private Client Group of Prudential Securities.”

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Robert O’Braitis holds 33 years of securities industry experience. Based in Lansdowne, Virginia, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Cambridge Investment Research since 2014, doing business as Landsdowne Private Wealth Management Group. His past registrations include AXA Advisors, ING Financial Partners, Prudential Securities, American Fronteer Financial Corporation, and FN Wolf & Company. He holds 41 state licenses.
