Recent investor complaints against Gilbert, Arizona financial advisor Steve Nielsen (CRD# 4184826) allege that he recommended unsuitable, high-risk investments. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is a broker and an investment advisor with Centaurus Financial, doing business as Nielsen Wealth Management.
Mr. Nielsen’s BrokerCheck report discloses nine investor complaints.The most recent, filed in March 2024, alleges that as a Centaurus Financial representative, he “recommended an unsuitable, high-risk” corporate bond investment and breached his fiduciary duty. The pending complaint alleges damages of $46,000.
An earlier investor complaint, filed in 2023, alleges that as a representative of Centaurus Financial, he breached his fiduciary duty and recommended an unsuitable real estate investment. The pending complaint alleges damages of $36,000.
A third investor complaint, filed in 2023, similarly alleged that he recommended an unsuitably risky bond investment while registered with Centaurus Financial. In February 2024 the complaint reached a settlement of $34,111.33.
A fourth investor complaint, filed in 2022, alleged that he misrepresented material facts, breached his fiduciary duty, and recommended unsuitable investments in corporate bond and real estate products. In February 2024 the complaint reached a settlement of $60,000.

Based in Gilbert, Arizona, he has been a broker and an investment advisor with Centaurus Financial since 2017, doing business as Nielsen Wealth Management. His credentials include the passage of three securities industry qualifying exams: the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; and the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66. He is licensed in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin.
